Mikel Arteta is a Spanish professional football manager and former player. Born on 26 March 1982, he is the current manager of Premier League club Arsenal.
Playing Career
As a player, Arteta made over 500 appearances for clubs such as Everton, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain. He won numerous trophies, including two FA Cups with Arsenal and the Copa del Rey with Barcelona.
Managerial Career
Arteta retired from playing in 2016 and joined Manchester City's coaching staff under Pep Guardiola as assistant manager. In December 2019, he was appointed manager of Arsenal.
Successes as Arsenal Manager
Under Arteta's leadership, Arsenal has won the 2020 FA Cup and the 2022-23 Premier League.
