Chelsea apply for agent's multi-million-pound lawsuit to be thrown out of court
Blues claim Vinicius is in contempt of court and that his financial claim should be dismissed
Chelsea have asked a judge to throw out a multi-million pound lawsuit filed against them by a football agent, accusing him of contempt of court.
Kia Joorabchian's agency, Sports Invest UK, is suing the Premier League club for a fee relating to the 2020 transfer of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.
Chelsea say Joorabchian's claim should be dismissed because:
- He has failed to comply with a court order to provide documents.
- He has made public statements about the case which are in breach of the order.
- He has not acted in good faith.
Chelsea are also seeking £150,000 in legal costs from Joorabchian.
The case is due to go to trial in March 2024.
